Are you planning to attend the 2019 IABC World Conference in Vancouver this June? If you’ve also been considering professional certification, this is your opportunity to do both.
The IABC World Conference is a long-standing, global professional development event designed for communication practitioners. The only major conference of its type, the event draws over 1,300 attendees from around the world. This year, the can’t-miss annual conference for business communicators will take place in Vancouver on 9–12 June. With the theme “Think Forward” and an eye toward the latest trends, solutions and ideas, the conference will explore new challenges and opportunities facing the communication profession.
This is your chance to take advantage of all the benefits the World Conference offers: global networking, best-practice sharing and opportunities to sit for one of the two communication certification exams.
The Global Communication Certification Council (GCCC) currently offers two levels of certification:
- Communication Management Professional (CMP)—For generalist, specialist and other business communicators established in their careers as managers and looking to demonstrate their competence.
- Strategic Communication Management Professional (SCMP)—For highly skilled business communicators practiced in providing strategic communication advice and counseling to an organization’s leadership.
If you’re interested in attending the World Conference and taking the CMP or SCMP exam, be sure to apply ahead of time, register for the 9 June exam date and take advantage of all the resources that are available to you as you prepare. Attending the World Conference is also a way to earn credit toward obtaining or maintaining GCCC certification.
For more information about the GCCC certification options and the requirements, review the GCCC Certification Candidate Handbook.
