Taking the first step toward professional certification

Are you at a crossroads in your career? If you’re seeking a promotion or looking for the next opportunity to move your career forward, it’s the perfect time to consider professional certification.

The idea of gaining knowledge and leveraging it to your advantage sounds great, but what are some of the roadblocks?

I’m not sure I have the time. Pursuing professional certification is absolutely a time investment. But, the good news is that you can prepare for the Global Communication Certification Council (GCCC®) certification exams at your own pace and on your schedule using these study resources. After you’d applied and been accepted, you can then select your exam date and location.

I’m not convinced it’s worth my time and financial investment. Pursuing professional certification not only benefits you and your career, but it’s also an opportunity for you to take part in advancing the communication profession. By committing to either the Communication Management Professional certification (CMP®) or the Strategic Communication Management Professional certification (SCMP®), you’re taking a step toward speaking a common language, and you’ll test your knowledge against the Global Standard. And if you’re an IABC member, you’ll have access to a discount on your application fee.

I’m not the best test-taker. Pursuing professional certification isn’t always the easiest choice. However, there are resources available to make you feel more comfortable with your decision and that can help you reach your goal of passing the exam. In addition to the study resources that are available on the GCCC website, you can also take advantage of the IABC Academy Learning Paths: the CMP Refresher* and the SCMP Refresher*.

GCCC certification options give you the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and expertise, and provide evidence of your outstanding abilities. Becoming certified engages you in a process of life-long learning that elevates your career and provides a structure for keeping your skills fresh and applicable.

Are you ready to take your career to the next level?
